PETALING JAYA: TV host-entrepreneur Neelofa has offered to pay the compound for a burger seller in Kelantan that had been slapped with a RM50,000 fine for allegedly extending his business hours.

Neelofa, whose full name is Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor, said this in a Facebook post on Tuesday (April 27), clarifying her stance after citizens took offence to an earlier post on Instagram that supposedly poked fun on the burger seller's situation.

"Before I posted the photo, my lawyer contacted the burger seller and we have also contacted the police to ask details of the compound, because I am offering to help settle the payment, with the grace of God," she said.

Earlier she had posted a photo of a burger on Instagram, with the caption "Moreh burger malam ni meh".

Moreh is the meal eaten after Terawih prayers.
