Covid-19: Only 4.8% of clusters from Jan-April linked to Education Ministry, says Radzi

PETALING JAYA: Covid-19 clusters linked to the Education Ministry formed only 4.8% of the total 39.2% of clusters across the country from January to April this year, says Datuk Dr Radzi Md Jidin.

The Education Minister said from a total of 99 clusters linked to all educational institutions that has a total of 6,549 cases at the moment, the number of clusters related to his Ministry stood at 52 with a total of 2,274 cases.

The data was collected from Jan 1 until April 25 this year.

“The education-related cluster is wide and not all components fall under our ministry.

“What is being discussed outside is as though schools are the main clusters (contributing to Covid-19 cases in the country) but our latest data shows otherwise,” he told a press conference on Monday (April 26).
