Rocker undergoing spinal treatment glad to perform

MELAKA: Rocker Zamani Ibrahim is grateful for the invite from his ex-schoolmate to perform at a hotel in the historic city.

The rocker, better known as Zamani Slam, needs all the funds he can get for his spine treatment. Zamani said he had exhausted all his savings for his treatment.

He said his health condition had made him look gaunt and pale.

"I am thankful that my schoolmate came forward to help me," he added.

Zamani, who hails from Alor Gajah, shot to stardom in the 1990s with his iconic song "Gerimis Mengundang".

LaCrista general manager Jason Bak said his boss, Datuk Rosthman Ibrahim, decided to invite Zamani to perform at the hotel.

"Both of them have studied in the same technical school in Seremban," he said on Friday (April 16).

Bak said his boss also intends to help the 50-year-old Zamani collect funds for his spine treatment.

Zamani, added Bak, would be performing live at the hotel on May 1 with the Siblings Band.
