SEREMBAN: A group of lawyers has agreed to provide free legal service to food delivery riders nationwide to ensure their rights are safeguarded and that they are eventually accorded similar benefits enjoyed by full-time workers, says its adviser Ng Kian Nam.
Ng said the group would also campaign to get the riders, estimated to number around 40,000, to be covered under the relevant employment laws and to ensure they are not exploited.
