Cops nab suspected snatch thief in Bandar Kinrara

KUALA LUMPUR: A suspected snatch thief who had allegedly stolen a man's gold necklace has been arrested by the police.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud, in a statement Sunday (May 31), said that the robbery occurred on April 12 at a restaurant in Taman Connaught.

"While the victim and his wife were having breakfast in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant, a male suspect riding a motorcycle approached from behind and snatched the victim’s gold necklace together with its pendant before fleeing the scene,” he said.

Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of a male suspect on May 24 within the Bandar Kinrara area.

"The remand application was rejected, and the suspect has since been released on police bail. The investigation papers have been completed for further action.

"The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code,” he said.
