Samples taken from farms in recalled eggs probe


No reason to panic: The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry has advised consumers not to panic-buy eggs, which will disrupt supply in the country, following a report on the recall of eggs from the Singapore market. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR: The Veterinary Services Department has conducted site visits to obtain samples from an egg producing company following the alleged discovery of Salmonella enteritidis (SE) in one of its consignments to Singapore.

The department said following a meeting with the management of Lay Hong Berhad Layer Farm in Jeram, Kuala Selangor, it found that only one of the 10 egg farms exported eggs to Singapore exclusively.
