IPOH: Police seized nearly RM30,000 worth of illicit drugs, including ketamine-infused vape cartridges, and arrested a local man during a raid on a house in Kampong Gajah, Perak Tengah, on Wednesday (Aug 6).
Acting on a public tip-off, a team from the Perak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department raided the premises in Kampung Teluk Saga at around 9.30pm, apprehending the suspect in the living room.
Perak Tengah District Police Chief Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah confirmed the arrest and seizure in a statement on Saturday (Aug 8).
“A search of the house uncovered nine plastic packets of suspected heroin (146.33g), six packets of suspected methamphetamine (24.70g), and 170 Erimin 5 pills wrapped in aluminium foil (53.38g),” Supt Hafezul said.
“Officers also confiscated 41 cartoon-printed packets containing vape cartridges filled with suspected liquid ketamine, weighing 360.80g with a volume of 123ml.”
Supt Hafezul added that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine during a preliminary urine test. Under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, police also seized a Proton Waja, a Honda RS150 motorcycle, and RM3,372 in cash.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days until Aug 13. The case is currently being investigated under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
