PETALING JAYA: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has hit back at detractors for using the term "court cluster" to refer to him and other leaders facing graft charges.

He said that the Umno grassroots actually want the party to remain united without any divisions, and even if there are differences of opinion, they should be celebrated.

“The interpretations by political analysts indicating that there are various ‘clusters’ may be inevitable. They said the ‘court cluster’ should resign, supposedly to save Umno, ” he said

“Actually, it is these Umno leaders in the ‘court cluster” who are the brave and loyal ones who fight for Umno regardless of what happens to them, ” added Ahmad Zahid.

He said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (March 10) that more than three million Umno members and supporters realise that the 'court cluster' is the last defence for Umno

Ahmad Zahid also said it was also surprising that there were supporters of the ‘power cluster’, the group whom he described as anti-Umno.

The Bagan Datuk MP also noted the existence of the "cari makan (opportunistic) cluster", that is also known as the "broker cluster", which is trying to encourage such a split.

Ahmad Zahid said it was always the intention of Umno’s enemies to destroy the party “once and for all” but they were unable to do so.

He also said that the 'broker cluster' supposedly used their position as spokesmen to talk about the unity of the "ummah (community)" but actually acted outside the principles of honesty and transparency.

"The power and broker cluster are worried that Umno will be able to stand up and regain its strength," he said.
