Covid-19: Penang CM to get jab on Sunday, urges public to give full support to vaccination plan

GEORGE TOWN: Penang's National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme will officially begin on Feb 28 with Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (pic) receiving the first dose.

He will be followed by Deputy Chief Minister l Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman and Deputy Chief Minister ll Dr. P. Ramasamy.

Chow's office in a statement on Thursday (Feb 25) said also in the list were state secretary Datuk Abdul Razak Jaafar, state Health Department director Datuk Dr Asmayani Khalib and state police chief Commissioner Datuk Sahabudin Abdul Manan.

"The Immunisation Programme will run in three stages for a year which involves 70% of the population or 1.3 million people in Penang," the statement added.

It said there will be 15 Vaccination Administration Centres statewide, situated in selected halls in each district.

Chow urged the people to give their full support to the programme and register through the MySejahtera application as soon as possible.
