GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng is being investigated by the police over a statement issued by the Pakatan Harapan presidential council on the Emergency, claims his lawyer, R. S. N. Rayer.

Rayer said he was contacted by an investigating officer from Bukit Aman's Crime Investigation Department, ASP Mohd Khairul Ridzuan Khairuddin on Tuesday (Feb 23), who allegedly told him the former Finance Minister was being investigated.

"It was regarding a statement on the Emergency issued by Pakatan presidential council on Jan 12," Rayer said in a statement Tuesday.

"Lim was supposed to be present at Bukit Aman to have his statement recorded on Thursday (Feb 25), but this has been postponed," he added.

Rayer said Lim will give his full cooperation to the police in conducting their investigation and declined to elaborate further.
