Man dies of charcoal smoke inhalation in car

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was found dead inside a car in an apparent suicide, say police.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said police were alerted to the incident near an apartment in Sri Petaling at 10.05am on Monday (Feb 15).

"The man's body was found in the driver's seat with charcoal and firestarters beside him.

"We believe the man burned the charcoal inside the car, leading to death by asphyxiation from the smoke," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 16).

No criminal elements were found and that the case has been classified as a sudden death report.
