Ismail Sabri: Over 300,000 foreign workers screened for Covid-19 since December

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 312,623 foreign workers have been screened for Covid-19 involving 13,533 employers since Dec 1 last year, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister (Security) said from those screened, 6,093 people were confirmed Covid-19 positive, while 306,530 tested negative.

"A total of 1,268 clinics are involved in the screening programme.

"Beginning Feb 1, the government has made it compulsory for every employer nationwide to ensure that their workers go for screenings and the cost be covered by each employer," he said on Sunday (Feb 7).
