PETALING JAYA: The Armed Forces will be given similar powers as the police and they will be allowed to arrest, examine and seize items from illegal immigrants under the Emergency Ordinance (Essential Powers) 2021, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The Prime Minister said this was done to help other agencies to stop illegal entry at the country's borders in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.
