PETALING JAYA: A technical committee on the Emergency has been formed to help monitor and manage issues related to it, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).
The Prime Minister chaired the National Security Council (NSC) meeting on the proclamation virtually with all mentris besar and chief ministers.
He said the committee was also responsible for looking into and studying issues related to the proclamation of Emergency and providing solutions to resolve them.
“The committee will also streamline the management of the Emergency with relevant stakeholders at both the federal and state levels, and lead the monitoring and enforcement of laws concerning it at all levels, ” said Muhyiddin in a Facebook post after the meeting yesterday.
Apart from that, the committee will also be joined by eight permanent members.
They are the Public Service Department director-general, Treasury secretary-general, Attorney General, Armed Forces chief, Inspector-General of Police, Health director-general, NSC director-general and Cluster head.
“God willing, I hope that the committee formed will get the cooperation and support at all levels to ensure the management of the Emergency is carried out effectively nationwide, ” said Muhyiddin.
He said the meeting was held at Bangunan Perdana Putra in Putrajaya but every member was separated in different rooms and levels in the building.
This is the first meeting held with all mentris besar and chief ministers after the Emergency was proclaimed on Jan 11 by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Muhyiddin said the meeting discussed Emergency management at both the federal and state levels.
