PETALING JAYA: Public parks in Kuala Lumpur will be reopened with strict supervision, says Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
Visitors to the parks, however, must adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the National Security Council (NSC).
"This means that group activities, aerobics and picnics cannot be held," he said during a live Facebook press conference Friday (Jan 15).
Annuar said this despite Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) having ordered the closure of the parks two days ago.
"The decision to reopen the park was made after receiving feedback from the public and KL MPs who said the parks' closure was not in line with NSC’s guidelines.
"For example, jogging and cycling are allowed, but where would they go other than the parks," he added.
