Malaysian woman who married Indian hockey captain in Punjab still a Muslim, says deputy minister


PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian woman who is believed to have undergone a marriage ceremony in a Sikh temple in Punjab, India will be called up once she returns to the country, say religious authorities.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (pic) said authorities are still waiting for a complete report from the Johor Islamic Religious Department about the marriage between Illi Najwa Anuar Husin Saddique and Indian national hockey team captain Manpreet Singh.
