Pupils win gold in innovation competition

PUPILS from SJK (T) Ladang Ebor won three gold medals and a bronze in the WYIE-ITEX 2020 innovation competition, Makkal Osai reported.

The concurrent World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE) and 31st International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) competition was held online this year on Nov 20 and 21.

Fifteen pupils in three teams won gold medals for their invention of a herbal air purifying oil and two different kinds of face masks including one made from the Neem herb.

Thuseelan Murugan, 21, who worked for a tent rental company reportedly went to PPR Intan Baiduri in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday for an assignment with a colleague.

The youngster, who was buying food while his colleague was talking to their employer, was attacked by a man with a sharp weapon.

The victim made a run for his life but fell unconscious nearby.

Bystanders called for an ambulance but he was found to have died by the attending paramedics.

The victim is said to be the eighth child in his family.
