PETALING JAYA: It is likely that one in two diabetic patients in Malaysia does not know they have the disease until a blood sugar level test is performed, according to the National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2019.
The survey estimated that 18.3% Malaysians (3.9 million people) aged 18 and above have diabetes, a significant increase from 11.2% in 2011 and 13.4% in 2015.
