Nine bipartisan special select committees to be set up

THE Dewan Rakyat has approved a motion to set up nine bipartisan special select committees as check and balance while the Opposition wants more members to be included in the committees.

The special select committees are Basic Freedoms and Rights under the Constitution; Security; Finance and Economy; Agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department; Domestic Trade and Agriculture; Infrastructure Development; Education; Health, Science and Innovation; and Women, Children and Social Development.
