KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 72 customers and 11 workers have been detained following a raid on an entertainment outlet that operated daily until 2am during the conditional MCO.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razali Abu Samah said a team from Serdang police headquarters and Bukit Aman D7 raided the premises at about 1.15am on Sunday (Nov 8) after receiving actionable intelligence.
“The premises called ‘Anak Kampung Borneo Bistro Café’ has been operating for quite a while.
“It is located in a two-storey building and we believe it is a favourite for those from Sabah and Sarawak,” he said when contacted Tuesday (Nov 10).
Based on surveillance, most of the customers used e-hailing services to go to the club so that not many vehicles would be seen in front of the premises, he added.
“We believe it is a method for them to avoid detection,” he said.
ACP Razali said urine tests were also conducted but none of those detained tested positive for drugs.
“However, we detained and brought the customers – 53 men and 19 women – to the Puchong Jaya police station.
“Seven male workers and four female workers were also detained during the raid,” he added.
ACP Razali said all 83 have been issued with RM1,000 compounds.
“We also seized various sound equipment including microphones and a mixer as well as RM2,644 in cash,” he added.
