Seremban under conditional MCO from Nov 5 -18 (Updated)

PETALING JAYA: Seremban will be placed under the conditional movement montrol order (MCO) beginning Nov 5 until Nov 18 due to the increase in new Covid-19 cases, says Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

According to Ismail, the decision was made by the National Security Council (NSC) special conference on Tuesday (Nov 3) upon advice by the Health Ministry.

He said the conditional MCO would affect eight areas in Seremban - Ampangan, Bandar Seremban. Labu, Rantau, Rasah, Setul, Pantai and Lenggeng.

The same conditional MCO regulations implemented in other areas recently, such as KL, Selangor, Putrajaya and Sabah, would be implemented in Seremban during this period.

This includes obtaining police permits for interstate travel, employers letter to go to work and among others.

“We are aware that many work in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur but live in Seremban, and they travel daily to work.

“They will need to obtain a police permit or show their workers’ pass/employees’ letter at the police roadblocks.

At the same time, he said the enhanced MCO in Lot 1/7A, 1/7B and 7/F Putra Point Nilai from Oct 28 to Nov 10 would remain in force.

He reiterated that only two from a household would be allowed to go out to buy essentials, while the elderly and the young were not encouraged to go out to crowded public places.

All education institutions in Seremban, including kindergarten, day care centres and religious schools, would remain closed during the conditional MCO period, said Ismail.

Meanwhile, all social activities, including entertainment outlets and wedding ceremonies, would not be allowed.

“However, all economic activities are allowed to operate as normal but for shorter operating hours,” he said, referring to the 10pm business operation time limit implemented in

According to Ismail, morning market hours would be from 6am-2pm, wholesale markets from 4am-2pm, night markets from 4pm-10pm, petrol stations from 6am-10pm, except for highways, which would be allowed to remain open for 24 hours.

He also added public transportation in Seremban would remain operational from 6am-12am to allow shift workers to travel around.

Food outlets would be allowed operate from 6am-10pm, including restaurants, food trucks, food court and more.
