Contractor, subcontractor fined RM180k over SUKE construction mishap


KUALA LUMPUR: The main contractor and subcontractor of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (SUKE) project have been fined RM180,000 for failing to ensure safety at the construction site in a Sept 19 incident in which a concrete slab fell from the elevated highway and crushed on a passing car.

Bernama reported that a Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) statement on Tuesday (Nov 3) said the main contractor, MRCB Builders Sdn Bhd, would be fined RM80,000, while subcontractor Makna Setia was slapped with a RM100,000 fine.
