Third suspect arrested in Kota Warisan murder

SEPANG: A third suspect has been arrested, as investigations continue into the gruesome murder at Kota Warisan.

"The arrest was made in Batu Caves. He has been remanded from Oct 30 until Nov 6," said Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof in a statement on Saturday (Oct 31).

On Wednesday (Oct 28), the charred body of a man was found in a torched Toyota Harrier MPV near Kota Warisan here.

The body is believed to be the owner of the vehicle, a 42-year-old site engineer. Police are still waiting for DNA results to confirm the body's identity.

On Friday (Oct 30), two contractors, aged 37 and 42, were nabbed in connection with the murder. They are believed to be friends of the site engineer.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat had said that a post-mortem revealed that the victim died due to slash wounds from a sharp object, and not from being burnt.
