Covid-19: 199 foreign workers linked to Bayan cluster quarantined

GEORGE TOWN: A total of 199 foreign workers comprising 87 Nepalese men and 112 Indonesian women have been placed under quarantine at Batu Maung on Sunday (Oct 25) evening.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan (pic) said the group were traced by the Health Ministry as close contacts of a Covid-19 case linked to the Bayan cluster.

He added that in an operation from 5.30pm to 8pm, five men's hostels and five women's hostels were also disinfected.

"The hostels were at Jalan Kolam 1,2 and 3 in Bayan Lepas and disinfection work was done on three buses as well," he said.
