Negri school closed for two weeks after students test positive for Covid-19


SEREMBAN: Sekolah Tinggi As-Sofa near here will be closed for two weeks starting Thursday (Oct 22), after several students tested positive for Covid-19.

State health committee chairman S.Veerapan said the authorities were still finalising the number of positive cases.

"We have a few cases at the school.

"The Health director-general will announce the exact number later on Thursday (Oct 22)," he said when contacted.

It is learnt that the health authorities began conducting screening at the school on Tuesday (Oct 20), after a student tested positive.

Some 150 students have been screened since.

It is learnt that the affected students have been sent to Rembau Hospital.
