Man killed trying to cross Pasir Gudang Highway

JOHOR BARU: A 51-year-old pedestrian who tried to cross the busy Pasir Gudang Highway was hit by a car and killed at the scene.

Seri Alam Deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the accident took place at KM26 of the highway at around 11pm on Friday (Oct 9).

He said the victim, Goh Yeng Soon, was trying to cross from the left side of the road before a car heading towards Johor Baru ran into him.

“The victim, from Ayer Keroh, Melaka, was severely injured in the crash where he sustained wounds to his head and died on the spot.

"The 31-year-old driver injured his face and the front of his car was also damaged, ” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged those with information about the incident to come forward and assist in investigations by heading to the nearest police station or by calling the police hotline at 07-2212 999.
