Jakim DG Paimuzi Yahya dies of heart and lung complications


PETALING JAYA: The director-general of the Islamic Development Department (Jakim), Datuk Paimuzi Yahya, passed away at 1pm on Thursday (Oct 8).

Jakim released a statement saying that Paimuzi, 59, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital from heart and lung complications.

He had, prior to this, tested negative for Covid-19 and was warded on Oct 6.

"The funeral will take place at his home in Kuang, Gombak this evening (Oct 7)," said Jakim.
