Woman scolds worker at pharmacy after being told to wear face mask


SIBU: A woman has been fined RM1,000 for not wearing a face mask at a pharmacy on Monday (Oct 5).

A video that has gone viral showed the woman berating an employee at the pharmacy when she was told to put on a face mask.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit (pic) said based on the video, the police conducted an investigation at 2.30pm on Monday, which led to the arrest of the 48-year-old woman.

He said the incident happened at about 4.30pm on Oct 4 at a pharmacy in Jalan Kampung Nyabor.

"From our investigation on the woman, she said she became agitated when a staff of the pharmacy called her auntie when he asked her to wear a face mask. She also revealed that she had insomnia," he added.

Stanley said during the investigation, the woman would suddenly raise her voice and also laughed by herself.

"She does not have any criminal record but has previously lodged numerous report on quarrel and fighting, " he added.
