KUALA LUMPUR: A 52-year-old man with a Covid-19 pink wristband was arrested near a restaurant in Rawang.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe said the man was detained at about 7.30pm on Saturday in Bandar Tasik Puteri following a public tip-off.
He said an inspection found that the man had been ordered to undergo home quarantine from Oct 3 to 16.
“The man was screened at KLIA2 and awaiting the test results.
“He will be remanded for breaching a quarantine order, ” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 269 of the Penal Code for the offence of committing a negligent act likely to spread infection or any disease dangerous to life.
ACP Arifai urged the public to comply with quarantine orders issued by the Health Ministry.
“Adhering to such orders is vital towards ensuring the safety of others. Irresponsible acts such as breaking quarantine orders will only lead to problems and cause worry to others, ” he added.
