KUALA LUMPUR: Protected birds worth nearly RM300,000 have been rescued from smugglers by the authorities in three separate raids across Selangor and Johor.
Central Brigade General Operations Force (GOF) commander Senior Asst Comm Muhammad Abdul Halim said 1,978 rare birds were recovered in the raids, dubbed Ops Khazanah, with three suspects arrested.The authorities estimated the value of the rescued birds to be about RM279,960.
