Controversial preacher asked to matchmake his followers

A LETTER written by a group of male followers of the controversial Indian preacher Nithyananda asking him to matchmake them with his female worshippers has gone viral, reported Makkal Osai.

Describing themselves as from Tamil Nadu, India, the followers said they were born in the year 1990.

In the letter, they claimed to have found it impossible to find suitable women to marry and pleaded with Nithyananda to help find them brides from among his followers, who live in his many ashrams.

They also requested to be given jobs in his self-declared government of Kailash which he claimed to have set up on an island near South America.

Nithyananda was embroiled in several controversies during his time in India before leaving the country and becoming a fugitive after his passport was revoked.

He then declared himself the head of a new country called Kailash, which was not recognised by anyone.

Indian authorities are reportedly working to bring him back to India to face charges.
