KUALA LUMPUR: Hot Burger Malaysia founder Mohd Asri Hamid (pic), better known as Asri Janggut, is expected to be called up by Selangor police in connection with his allegations of illegal gambling activities in Sungai Buloh.
Mohd Asri said Selangor police had already called him up and asked him to go to the state police headquarters on Tuesday (Sept 22).
"The police already called me regarding the matter.
"It is in relation to illegal gambling in Sungai Buloh. I will be accompanied by a lawyer," he said when contacted on Thursday (Sept 17).
Early last month, Mohd Asri went on Facebook Live alleging that police were in cahoots with gambling syndicates and the smuggling of fake cigarettes was also rampant.
He also complained of unfair action by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in seizing his burger stall. The Facebook Live videos, which went viral on Aug 8, received more than three million views.
Since then, eight MBSA personnel and an officer have been detained by the authorities.
