Revised RM10,000 fine proposed

KUALA LUMPUR: It has been proposed that the fine for compoundable offences under Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988) be raised from the current RM1,000 to RM10,000, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic).

The revised figure has been submitted to Parliament recently and would take some time to be passed.
