Covid-19 contract-tracing apps: Data must be deleted six months after MCO, says ministry


KUALA LUMPUR: Personal data collected at business premises to facilitate contact tracing during the Covid-19 pandemic should be deleted or destroyed six months after the end of the movement control order (MCO), says the government.

It is among the directives imposed by the Personal Data Protection Department (PDPD), the Communication and Multimedia Ministry said in response to Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo's written question posted in the Dewan Rakyat.
