Hypermarket offers great deals as it turns 63

SUBANG JAYA: Sixty-three is an important number for Malaysia this year, and will be more so for Mydin hypermarket as the chain celebrates its 63rd anniversary with its OHMYDIN! The Brand Festival.

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin said the campaign, supported by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, would be the biggest for Mydin thus far, offering a slew of attractive deals and programmes from today until Nov 1 on both online and offline platforms.

“Other than just telling people that we are 63 through advertising, we want to make this year’s anniversary extra special. So what better way to celebrate the joyous occasion by giving back to society through RM6.3mil in rewards and cost-saving initiatives.

“Besides offering great savings for customers, OHMYDIN! also helps promote Malaysian-made products and assists local entrepreneurs grow their business.

“The campaign creates a platform to support the growth of SMEs, which is in line with the ministry’s Buy Malaysia Campaign, aimed at reviving the national economy amid global uncertainties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Through this campaign, we have also selected local SMEs to be featured in our promotional materials,” he said.

Kick-starting the event today is the OHMYDIN! live television show on TV3 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

The 1.5-hour segment features games and performances participated by local celebrities such as Elly Mazlein, Issey, Achey, Siti Nordiana, Diana Danielle, Dayana Roza, Black, Chef Naem, Chef Nik Michael and Hazama.

Through the show, Mydin will contribute to 15 welfare bodies through its corporate social responsibility programme Mydin Prihatin.

To hype the celebration, Mydin will partner with e-commerce platform Shopee to offer customers exciting Shocking Sales.

There will be a 90-minute Shocking Sale at Mydin @ Shopee store during the live TV show, with more than 500 items ranging from household necessity to lifestyle products on sale for as low as 63 sen.

Happening simultaneously is the Shopee Shocking Sale where product prices are slashed only for today.

Those who have purchased Mydin cash e-vouchers are entitled to a lucky draw at the end of the live TV show where customers stand to win lucrative prizes, including a Perodua Myvi and Mydin cash vouchers.

RM100 Mydin cash e-vouchers are available for RM90 while RM50 Mydin cash e-vouchers can be obtained for RM47.50.

Those who have missed today’s sale on OHMYDIN! can still enjoy great bargains, including 63 sen deals, at all Mydin hypermarkets nationwide until Aug 23.

While at the stores, customers can look out for the OHMYDIN! QR code to scan and download different sets of weekly discount vouchers worth RM10,000.

Additionally, customers can also stand a chance to win amazing prizes worth over RM640,000, including three units of Proton X70 Executive 2WD and MYDIN cash vouchers, when they make payment of a minimum RM63 with MyDebit cards.
