PUTRAJAYA: Four enforcement officers from the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) have been remanded to assist investigations into claims of corruption in Sungai Buloh.
The men, aged between 41 and 45, will be held for seven days until Aug 18.
They were brought before Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim who allowed an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to remand these men.
Also remanded was a 44-year-old trader who is a foreigner.
All the suspects were arrested on Tuesday (Aug 11).
On Monday (Aug 10), MACC said that it would investigate claims that certain enforcement authorities were on the take and protecting illegal businesses in Sungai Buloh.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin had assured that action will be taken against those involved in protecting illegal businesses.
