MIRI: Floods have been reported in the interior regions of Limbang, Marudi and Baram districts in northern Sarawak from Sunday (June 29).

The state Fire and Rescue Department said in Limbang, villages in Ukong and Medamit are under 0.7m of water.

In Marudi and Baram, the badly-hit areas are SK Long Bemang, SK Long Panai and SK Long Tutoh where the classrooms, school halls and teachers' quarters have been inundated.

The teachers' housing block at SK Long Bemang is submerged in about 1.3m of water.

"The water is rising due to heavy rain in the interior," said the department.
