Portal editor to be questioned under OSA over Hospital Sultanah Aminah fire stories

PETALING JAYA: The editor of a news website will be questioned by the police under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

Health news portal editor-in-chief Boo Su-Lyn, in a tweet on Friday (June 26), said she had been summoned by the police to give her statement over a series of articles based on findings from the 2016 fire at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

"I am being investigated under the Penal Code & Official Secrets Act over my articles on the declassified findings of the independent investigation into the 2016 fire at Hospital Sultanah Aminah that killed six patients.

"Police are interviewing me at 2pm today at IPD Putrajaya," she tweeted.

Her tweet also highlighted four stories published by the website.

On October 25,2016, a fire at the hospital killed six patients who were undergoing treatment, while another patient was saved.

Previous reports stated that one of the causes of the fire was due to a burnt capacitor on a ceiling light.
