JOHOR BARU: The two drug suspects in the trafficking-by-drone case are on Singapore’s wanted list, according to Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

“Both of them are part of a secret society known as ‘Salakau’ or ‘Geng 369’ in Singapore,” he said here yesterday.

Police on Tuesday arrested Singaporean Mohamad Azli Ahmad Said, 40, also known as “Boy Setan” at a condominium in Taman Mount Austin here for allegedly smuggling drugs into the republic using a drone.

Based on information obtained after interrogating him, police later arrested another Singaporean, a 41-year-old man from a condominium here.

Also arrested was Boy Setan’s 23-year-old girlfriend.

On Saturday, Bernama reported that two Singaporean men were arrested for using a drone to smuggle drugs into Singapore from Malaysia, according to the Singapore Police Force and the Central Narcotics Bureau.

The flight data retrieved from the phone of one of the suspects showed the unmanned aircraft had flown from Kranji to Johor Baru and back again to Kranji.

Comm Ayob said the case was investigated under Section 15(1)(C) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963, Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“Both suspects are under remand for 14 days until July 7. Urine tests on the men revealed that both are positive of methamphetamine.

“They were still ‘high’ because they kept giving different answers for a different question during interrogation,” he said.

Comm Ayob said they confiscated drugs including 37 ecstasy pills, 13.6g syabu and 2.4g heroin worth RM2,590 from the suspects.
