SIBU: Fifteen people, including five women, were arrested for violating the recovery movement control order (MCO), for patronising a pub on Jalan Pahlawan here on Monday (June 15).
Sibu deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat, said those arrested were aged from 15 to 40.
The youngest, a 15-year-old girl, is a Form Three student.
During a raid on the pub at 6.53pm, the suspects were heavily engrossed in a drinking session, said Supt Collin.
"Urine tests on the suspects showed that 13 of them were positive for drugs," he added.
He said they were arrested for violating Section 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (PPPPB) (No.7) 2020 for assembling for social purpose at an entertainment centre.
All the suspects are required to settle the compound within 14 days (until June 29).
"An investigation paper has also been opened on the 13 suspects who were positive for drugs under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
Supt Collin added that all released on police bail after their statements were taken.
