JOHOR BARU: The move by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia to remove Simpang Renggam MP Dr Maszlee Malik and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman as division chiefs is in line with the party's constitution, says Johor Bersatu chief Mazlan Bujang.
Mazlan said that the decision to appoint the deputy division chiefs in Simpang Renggam and Muar as acting division chiefs had been finalised by the party's central leadership.
"The decision is final and is in accordance with the party's rules and constitution.
"Johor Bersatu will abide and respect the decision made by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin," he said to reporters here.
Mazlan added he had personally met with Simpang Renggam acting division chief Azman Mohd Umar and Muar acting division chief Basut Nin.
Asked about the objections from grassroots leadership on the appointments, Mazlan said that such objections are "normal".
"It is normal to receive objections for any decision made in politics, and those objections are personal opinions of the members," he said.
