PETALING JAYA: Police arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of stealing a motorcycle in Sungai Way.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police were able to identify the man from a surveillance camera image and tracked him down to a building in Kampung Lindungan on Wednesday (May 27) at around 11pm.

"He tried to put up a fight but he was successfully arrested," he said, adding that the suspect had four counts of stealing motorcycles in his record.

The suspect confessed to the theft, adding that he had an accomplice known as Aiman, who is still at large and is believed to have the stolen motorcycle.

The suspect has been remanded to help with investigations.

Police also arrested a 40-year-old man in a separate incident suspected of stealing a car in Kepong.

ACP Nik Ezanee said the suspect was found with a few bunches of car keys and had been handed over to Sentul police for further action.

Separately, police arrested two men in connection with a recent robbery and snatch theft in Taman Dato' Harun.

ACP Nik Ezanee said police arrested the first man, a 35-year-old man, after he was seen driving suspiciously in the area on Wednesday at 1.30pm.

"He was arrested in connection with a robbery in front of a mosque in Taman Dato' Harun," he said.

Police later arrested the second man, also 35, in connection with a snatch theft incident in the area on May 23.

When searched, police found a smartphone on each of the men.

"The first suspect admitted that he had bought the smartphone from the second man at RM150 and the other suspect confessed to the snatch theft," he said.
