Covid-19 frontliners go the extra mile to help vulnerable Malaysians

PETALING JAYA: Frontline healthcare workers going the extra mile for vulnerable citizens are melting the hearts of Malaysians.

In a group of photos, healthcare workers fully dressed in personal protective equipment (PPE) are seen helping the elderly and disabled Malaysians who turned up to get tested for Covid-19 at a recent Health Ministry screening session at the Pudu wet market.

The medical workers went above and beyond the call of duty, and this can be seen in images that show a healthcare worker pushing the wheelchair of an elderly man to help get him get to the test site.

Three other healthcare workers, also decked out in full PPE suits, are seen in another photo helping to lift an elderly man on a wheelchair up a curb.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Pos Malaysia chairman Datuk Yasmin Mahmood and Mercy Malaysia founder Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood were among those who have praised frontliners for their service and compassion.

They shared photos on social media of the frontliners out in the field helping others.
