KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s one and only Hard Rock Cafe has closed down for good effective April 30.
The cafe started operations in Kota Kinabalu on April 1,2015.
Hard Rock Cafe, in a statement, stated that the company had been working closely with safety and health agencies to align itself with local and global public health guidelines in response to Covid-19 and has temporarily closed all of its cafes in Malaysia during the movement control order (MCO).
“However, Hard Rock Cafe Kota Kinabalu will not be reopening even after the MCO is lifted, ” it said.
It said since the the outlet here opened in 2015, Hard Rock International (HRI) had enjoyed serving Kota Kinabalu’s dynamic community and playing a role in the city's dining culture.
“HRI would like to express its deepest gratitude to everyone that has rocked with us all this time, ” it said.
Fans who wish to purchase Hard Rock merchandise can still visit their online store.
The Hard Rock Cafe here was a popular spot among tourists.
They cafe started operations at the Waterfront area before moving to Oceanus Mall nearby.
It had provided diners and patrons with live band performances while they enjoyed their meals and drinks.
