Cop in Mongolian women rape case to be charged on April 29


PETALING JAYA: The policeman accused of raping two Mongolian women will be charged on Wednesday (April 29) under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Atipsom) Act.

"We have received instructions to charge him under Section 13 (f) of the Atipsom Act.

"The investigation paper is still with the prosecutors, awaiting their decision and instruction," said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal when contacted on Tuesday (April 28).

In an unrelated case, police busted a gang that stole around RM10,585 in goods in a convenience store robbery on April 10.

Five suspects were arrested in the raid on April 21, aged between 36 to 38.

"The police recovered four stolen motorbikes, 174 packets of cigarettes and 39 packets of batteries," he said.

Investigations are underway to identify their role in other similar cases within the area.
