Fuel prices April 25-May 1: Diesel down three sen, RON97 and RON95 unchanged

PETALING JAYA: The price of diesel will drop three sen, while the prices of RON97 and RON95 will remain the same from Saturday (April 25) until May 1.

The prices of RON97 and RON95 will remain at RM1.55 per litre and RM1.25 per litre respectively, according to the Finance Ministry.

It said the price of diesel will go down by three sen to RM1.40 per litre from RM1.43 per litre.

This is the third time that the prices of RON95 and RON97 remain the same.

"The government will continue to monitor the impact of global crude oil price changes and will take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people," the ministry said in a statement on Friday (April 24).

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5 last year under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

Under this system, fuel prices are announced every Friday and remain in force for one week.
