KUALA SELANGOR: A 46-year-old woman and four others were arrested for allegedly murdering a 55-year-old man.
The woman – who was the man's wife – and the four were arrested following an investigation into the death, which was reported when the woman called the police on April 10 to say that her husband was unconscious after a fall in the toilet.
An investigation at the scene found that the man had died, and a further inspection revealed several scald marks on various parts of the victim's body.
The cause of death was suspected to have been hot water that was poured onto the victim, and the case was then classified as murder.
This led to the arrest of the man's wife and several other family members aged between 16 and 29.
It is known that family issues were the motive behind the murder.
"All suspects were remanded for 12 days, until April 22. The investigation papers have been referred to the DPP and instructions were given to charge the wife with murder," said Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Ramli Kasa in a statement on Wednesday (April 22).
