KUALA LUMPUR: The parliamentary constituency of Batu is close to being declared a Covid-19 red zone with 37 cases recorded there so far, say Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
He said that should the numbers tip over 40 cases, Batu would be the seventh parliamentary constituency in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to be declared red zones.
“Although there has not been a significant jump in cases in the Federal Territories, we must remain vigilant.
“We are concentrating our efforts in the red zones at the moment, and hopefully the numbers will reduce as patients recover, ” he said during a press conference that was streamed live on his ministry's Facebook page on Saturday (April 11).
In his updates on the situation in the Federal Territories, Annuar said six of the 12 parliament constituencies were red zones as of April 10.
Districts with more than 40 cases are considered red zones, and this includes Seputeh (with 328 cases), Segambut (65 cases), Bukit Bintang (63), Titiwangsa (46), Bandar Tun Razak (42) as well as Putrajaya (49).
Labuan remains in the yellow zone with 13 cases reported.
The three residential buildings in Kuala Lumpur that have been placed under enhanced movement control order in Masjid India have so far recorded 78 cases of Covid-19.
