IPOH: Perak Land and Mines Office (PTG) director Datuk Rumaizi Baharin has been appointed the new Ipoh mayor.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said his appointment is effective from April 1.

He said Rumaizi would replace acting mayor Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, who had been appointed as the state secretary since December last year.

“Rumaizi has vast experience in matters related to the state administration.

“When he was appointed as the director of PTG, he was the youngest director helming the position, ” he said in a statement.

Rumaizi holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and also a Masters degree in Land Management and Administration from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

“I am confident with his experience and skills, this will help the Ipoh City Council better in its services and development, ” he added.
