KOTA KINABALU: An official website to check on Covid-19 status and cases in Sabah – – is available and can be accessed by the public.

This website is operated by the Sabah Disaster Management Committee Command Centre, said State Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Frankie Poon (pic).

He said the command centre was among the few authorities that was allowed to release information with regards to Covid-19 in Sabah.

Poon said this crisis was unprecedented and everyone should stay calm, speak only when necessary, and not mislead and cause confusion with unverified information.

The command centre is working round the clock to handle the situation and to provide as much information as it can.

“In Sabah, the Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi is authorised to disseminate information on behalf of the state government on television and radio with regards to Covid-19 matters, ” he said.

He reminded the public to stay home and practise proper hygiene and safety precautions when they are outside.

Poon said if fewer people go out, there would be smaller demand or use of Personal Protection Equipment, thus ensuring more for those who really need them, such as those on the front line including medical officials.

On food supply matters, he said that there is no shortage.
